Having successfully completed my secondary education back in 2000, in a leading Catholic Institute in the country, I went on to be professionally qualified (Certificate level) in Secretarial studies at a leading private institute in Colombo i.e. Polytechinic LTD. Some of the other courses I completed at the British Council in Sri Lanka were: Grammar for Business, Effective Writing and Presentation Skills and Report Writing. Back in school, I was able to represent my college team in Basketball, whilst also being very active in singing and drama competitions, in which I won first place every year. I was also an active member of the school debating team and was voted the team leader for two consecutive years. Some of my hobbies are watching movies and baking with my kids. I also love traveling to other countries. Travelling makes me appreciate people and their cultures. My visits to both Australia & England have broadened my views on many aspects of life and they have enlarged my knowledge in many ways. I used to work as a Project Assistant to the Operations team at The European Commission (EU) to Sri Lanka and Maldives. I was a part of interesting projects, like building homes for the less fortunate, as well as organizing community programs for people in villages. As I have resigned from the corporate sector, I decided to work as an online English tutor. Part of my passion is being of help and a blessing to anyone who is finding it challenging to communicate in English.
